Apple Pie Oatmeal

Comfort in a bowl and (in my opinion) one of the healthies breakfasts around.

Ingredients

  • 1 apple chopped
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1/2 cup plant milk
  • 3/4 cup boiling water
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

  • Place all the ingredients into a small saucepan.
  • Place on high heat and let it come up to a boil, then immediately turn down the heat to
    low.
  • Let the oats cook on low with the lid on, stirring often until the oats are soft and the apple
    is cooked but still has a little bite in it (around 5-10 minutes).
  • Serve with more milk over the top, a pinch of cinnamon, a drizzle of nut butter (I love
    almond butter here!) and a drizzle of date syrup or maple syrup if you want some extra
    sweetness.
