I was hiiiighly sceptical of these oats when I saw them making the rounds on Instagram. But it was lockdown, and I was like “hey, anything goes now. Let’s try it.” And I did and it’s amazing and this is now my favourite way to eat oats, especially in the winter when you really want something super comforting and warming and deeply spiced.
The easiest way to spice up plain ol' oats into something fabulous (with an added antioxidantboost). Win win! It sounds strange, but trust me…it's delicious!
Servings: 1 person
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1/2 cup plant milk
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 tsp ground turmeric
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 banana sliced
- a drizzle of maple syrup of sweetener of choice
- Place the oats, milk, water, spices, and salt into a small pot on high heat.
- Bring to a boil. Turn down the heat to medium and allow to bubble, stirring continuously,until cooked. Should take around 5 – 10 minutes.
- Serve with sliced banana and a drizzle of maple syrup! Enjoy!
